SnowNet : April 2008

Updated :

In April we visited the Barrow site and conducted field surveys. In addition to the standard surveys, we surveyed a 100 by 100 m grid, measuring the depth in thousands of places, and the surface elevation using a Trimble DGPS system. The figure below shows the surface elevation, base elevation, and snow depth. We are using these detailed surveys to examine the connection between the tussock tundra and the snow distribution.
